We recognise that it’s not always easy to start running women and girls’ cricket at your club – and we’re here to help.

Our W&G Development Officer Emily Patterson is dedicated to supporting clubs to start new women’s and girls’ sections.

We provide a range of support, tailored to your club, to help you start a new women or girls’ team. From helping you to write a W&G Development Plan and linking your club in with local primary schools, to providing coaching assistance at girls’ taster sessions and advice with league entries, we will work with you to put a plan in place that works for your club. We can also help you recruit and train new volunteers and provide specialist support for coaches of your women and girls’ teams.

A really simple way to start growing and developing W&G cricket at your club is to write a Women & Girls Development Plan – we have a template available as a good starting point. This will help you think through the key activities you need to consider across different areas, work out when each activity needs to happen, and identify key areas that we can support you with. It’s important to recognise that this won’t happen overnight, but setting out your ambitions is a good way of identifying what needs to be done now.

There’s no better time to start running W&G cricket at your club – it expands your membership base and opens up funding opportunities.
