Umpire and Scorer Training
Umpiring
People of all ages, genders, races and abilities are getting into umpiring. Described by some as the “Best seat in the house”, being in the middle of the game and making decisions to ensure the game is played fairly and in accordance to the Laws of the game is the main role of an umpire.

Surrey Association of Cricket Officials (SACO)
The Surrey Association of Cricket Officials (SACO) is the Surrey branch of the England and Wales Cricket Board’s Association of Cricket Officials (ECB ACO).
SACO works in close partnership with the Surrey Cricket Foundation to support the development and appointment of high-quality umpires and scorers across the county. This includes providing training and support for officials involved in our Performance Programme and County Age Group and Academy matches.
SACO members are independent officials who officiate across a wide range of cricket in Surrey, including adult league cricket and the Surrey Trust League, as well as ECB national competitions, the Conference Cup, Sovereign Trophy, MCC matches, inter-schools matches, inter-club friendly fixtures etc. Some members also officiate in County Second XI and Minor Counties matches.
