Discover the Game
Cricket is a game for everyone. Visually Impaired (VI) Cricket uses adapted equipment and rules to make the sport fully accessible, fun, and fast-paced. Whether you have partial sight or are severely sight-impaired, our sessions are designed to build skills, boost confidence, and connect you with a supportive community.
We use a larger, audible ball filled with bearings so you can hear it moving, modified wickets, and inclusive coaching tailored to every individual’s needs. From absolute beginners trying a bat for the first time to experienced players, everyone is welcome!
Meet the Surrey VI Squad & Home Match Details
The Surrey Visually Impaired Cricket County Squad is a thriving, passionate team representing the county. Working in close partnership with the Surrey Cricket Foundation, we bridge the gap between grassroots fun and competitive county cricket.
- Southern Development League & National League: We proudly field teams offering players a fantastic opportunity to gain match experience, hone their skills, and enjoy competitive cricket in a supportive environment.
- Come Support the Squad: Our home league matches are played at Frimley Cricket Club (Chobham Road, Frimley, Camberley, Surrey, GU16 8RE). Matches typically start at 1:00pm.
- Fixtures and Live Updates: For the full list of match dates, away fixtures, and live scorecards, please visit our team page on the Surrey Disability Play-Cricket Portal.
- Our Mission: We showcase how inclusive sport empowers people in all aspects of life, fostering a team culture built on camaraderie, development, and fun.
- Open to All: We are actively looking for new members to join our growing cricket family.
Opportunities to Play VI Cricket: Our Two Session Hubs
We run two distinct session hubs across the county. Beyond just playing sport and keeping active, these sessions are a fantastic social outlet and a true community space where you can build lasting friendships, share experiences, and enjoy being part of a team. Find the hub that fits your schedule and come along!
Our Hubs’ Aims:
At the heart of both hubs is a commitment to active sport, genuine inclusion, and a strong sense of community. We aim to provide a safe, accessible environment where individuals with visual impairments can thrive physically and socially, breaking down barriers to participation while building a supportive network of teammates and friends. Both of our training venues are fully accessible.
