Having started a few years ago with clubs in Epsom and Cobham we now have 12 clubs participating across the county – Valley End, Camberley, Chobham, Old Woking, Merstham, Wimbledon, Spencer, Balham & Tooting, Wallington, Cobham, Epsom, Normandy and Pirbright.
Walking Cricket is primarily aimed at older participants (50+) but is open to anyone who might not be able to participate in mainstream cricket due to mobility or other issues. Our primary goal is to ensure that older people can maintain their physical and mental health whilst also enjoying a social environment where they can meet new people. Walking Cricket is open to male and female participants and no experience is necessary to get started.
Our programme in Surrey is sponsored by Coaching Centred Leadership who enable us to continue growing the programme year on year and you can check out the impact of the programme at Wimbledon in the video below.
Over the winter months a number of indoor sessions take place across the county in Woking, Walton-on-Thames, Epsom, Redhill, Wallington and Wimbledon and if you are interested in getting involved you can express an interest below or contact the clubs directly.
