The Surrey Grounds Support Network (SGSN) is all about supporting recreational cricket from the grassroots up.

It replaces the Surrey Cricket Groundsman’s Association and acknowledges that the world we live in is constantly evolving and changing and that the previous committee structure is probably not relevant today. The SGSN is made up of 9 volunteers based across the county who are here to support clubs directly by being able to provide local advice and support to a range of queries.

The SGSN will deliver its core programmes which include Pitch Advisor visits, the Machinery Hire Service, regular Workshops and the Conference, all of which we believe plays a key role in supporting the network to enhance our wonderful game. We are here to be of help when needed so please do not hesitate to contact us on any cricket ground related query however large or small.

Guidance

The Grounds Management Association, working alongside the ECB, have a wealth of resources available on their website providing practical guidance on maintaining and developing pitches and outfields.

Using easy to follow text, images and videos the resource guides you through the operations undertaken on a cricket ground and the equipment and materials used. This resource is here to help every step of the way as you look to produce high quality pitch and ground performance at your club. All of the guidance, including a handy guide of the jobs required in each season, can be found here:
