The 2026 M Zaidi & Co Surrey Cricket Championship season has come to a close following another memorable summer of league and cup cricket across the county.
With 3,410 fixtures completed across all divisions, clubs, players, volunteers and officials once again demonstrated the strength and vibrancy of recreational cricket in Surrey.
Premier League Champions
In the open game, East Molesey CC 1st XI were crowned Open Premier League Champions, capping off an outstanding campaign to secure the county’s top league honour.
In the women’s competition, Reigate Priory CC Women’s 1st XI claimed the Women’s Premier League title, adding further silverware to an excellent season.
Promotion to the Premier Divisions
Following impressive performances throughout the campaign, two men’s teams have earned promotion to the Open Premier League for 2027:
- Sunbury CC 1st XI
- Malden Wanderers CC 1st XI
In the women’s competition, promotion to the Women’s Premier League has been secured by:
- Spencer CC Women’s 2nd XI
- Wimbledon CC Women’s 1st XI
Cup Competitions
Several clubs also enjoyed success in Surrey’s cup competitions.
Ashtead 1st XI lifted The Edwards Cup, while Reigate Priory Women’s 1st XI completed a remarkable double by winning The Women’s T20 Cup alongside their league title.
Elsewhere, East Molesey 2nd XI were victorious in The Subba Row Plate, and Sunbury 3rd XI claimed The 2025 Cup.

Outstanding Individual Performances
A number of players delivered exceptional individual seasons across the Championship.
Batting Honours
- Men’s Top Run Scorer: Zac Elkin (Malden Wanderers) – 962 runs at an average of 68.71
- Women’s Top Run Scorer: Josie Penfold (Wimbledon) – 759 runs at an average of 108.43
Bowling Honours
- Men’s Top Wicket Taker: Parvez Amin Nangarhari (Battersea Ironsides CC) – 53 wickets
- Women’s Top Wicket Takers: Megan Crisell (Dorking CC) – 18 wickets and Ella Gouldsborough (Horley CC) – 18 wickets
Celebrating Another Successful Season
The Surrey Cricket Foundation would like to congratulate all league champions, cup winners, promoted teams and individual award winners for their achievements throughout the 2026 season.
We also thank the thousands of players, coaches, captains, officials, volunteers and supporters whose commitment helped deliver over 3,400 fixtures across the county. Their dedication continues to make the M Zaidi & Co Surrey Cricket Championship one of the strongest and most competitive recreational cricket leagues in the country.
As attention now turns towards 2027, we look forward to another exciting season of cricket across Surrey.
