Walking Cricket in Surrey recently featured on the BBC World Service radio programme (from 16 minutes in), highlighting the growing popularity of this inclusive format of the game, specifically focusing on its success here in Surrey.
Our Assistant Director of Participation, Simon Hards, had the opportunity to discuss the benefits of Walking Cricket, explaining how it allows people of all abilities to enjoy the sport in a safe and social environment. The programme also featured interviews with participants from Cobham Cricket Club, who shared their personal experiences with Walking Cricket and how it has positively impacted their lives.
Walking Cricket offers a fantastic way to stay active, improve social connections, and have some fun in the fresh air. It’s a perfect option for those who may find traditional cricket too physically demanding.
