The Surrey Cricket Foundation is offering a unique opportunity for local cricket fans to be part of global sporting history, as The Oval prepares to host matches during the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.
Taking place this summer, the tournament will be watched by audiences around the world, bringing together the very best in international women’s cricket. Now, volunteers aged 14 and over are invited to step onto the pitch and play a special role in the matchday experience as official Flag Bearers.
Be Part of the Action at The Kia Oval
Successful applicants will have the chance to take part in the opening ceremonies for one of the following high-profile fixtures:
- England vs New Zealand – 27 June 2026
- Semi-Final 1 – 30 June 2026
- Semi-Final 2 – 2 July 2026
As a Flag Bearer, participants will carry national flags onto the field ahead of play, contributing to the electric atmosphere of an international event broadcast across the globe.
Who Can Get Involved?
The opportunity is open to a wide range of participants, with a focus on inclusivity and inspiring the next generation:
- Open to adults and young people aged 14+
- Under 17s must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who will also participate as a Flag Bearer
- Group bookings for young people require a minimum supervision ratio of 1 adult to 10 children
- All volunteers must attend a mandatory rehearsal lasting 3–4 hours, either the day before or on the morning of the match
What to Expect
Volunteers will receive full guidance and support to ensure a memorable and enjoyable experience:
- A full briefing and instructions during the rehearsal session
- An official uniform provided for use on the Field of Play
- Access to changing facilities at the venue
- A snack pack provided on the day
- A complimentary match ticket, allowing participants to enjoy the game after the ceremony
- For double-header fixtures, availability is required for both matches
