The Surrey Cricket Foundation’s All Stars & Dynamos holiday camp for Rainbows and Brownies returned for a successful second year, this time welcoming 55 girls from Rainbows and Brownies groups across the county to a fun-filled day of cricket at George Abbot School on Saturday 18th May.

The girls were introduced to the basics of batting, bowling, and fielding through a range of engaging activities. They also participated in cricket-themed craft projects and a teamwork challenge that saw them design protective cases for eggs, before dropping them from the sports hall viewing gallery!

“The aim was to provide a fun introduction to cricket for the girls,” Emily Patterson, Female Engagement & Partnership Officer, explains, “and show them that cricket is a sport they can enjoy too.”

All girls received a special cricket badge to add to their Rainbows and Brownies sashes, and were given details on how to continue their cricketing journeys with All Stars and Dynamos in Surrey.

Plans are already starting for a further Girlguiding cricket day next year, ensuring even more Rainbows and Brownies get a chance to experience the joy of cricket.
