Surrey Cricket Foundation hosted a successful Disability Cricket End of Season Celebration Day on Sunday, 15 September.

Participants from various disability cricket programmes across Surrey came together for an afternoon of fun, inclusive cricket at Valley End Cricket Club.

The day kicked off with a series of engaging cricket activities and drills designed to cater to all abilities. Participants also had the opportunity to try their hand at different disability cricket variations, including wheelchair cricket, visually impaired cricket, and table cricket.

A BBQ lunch and cake sale hosted by Valley End CC provided an opportunity for participants and spectators to catch up and refuel. The afternoon continued with inclusive cricket matches that also incorporated elements of both visually impaired and wheelchair cricket, ensuring that everyone could participate and enjoy the game.

The event served as a fantastic way to bring together disability cricketers from across Surrey Cricket Foundation’s programs and celebrate the end of a successful season. The inclusive atmosphere and enjoyable activities made the day a memorable experience for all involved.

Disability Development Officer, Caroline Robinson, commented: “It was wonderful to see so many participants come together to celebrate the end of another fantastic season. Our Disability Cricket program continues to grow from strength to strength, and events like this are essential for fostering a sense of community and belonging among our players.”

Our thanks to all those who helped make the day a success, and to Valley End for hosting.
