Surrey Cricket, in partnership with local businesses, is running a school’s cricket programme in the borough of Woking in honour of Alec and Eric Bedser.
Aim: This programme aims to identify, through the process, 6 children who have the potential to become performance cricketers. 6 scholarships will be awarded annually to children who are state school educated in Woking and are not currently in the SCCC player pathway.
Criteria: This programme is open to all children aged between 8-16 years and who attend a state school in Woking. The children progressing to the assessments must not currently be involved in the SCCC player pathway programme. The scholarships will only be awarded to players that can commit to attending the 1 to 1 sessions and a 5 week coaching course (Guildford area).
Woking Bedser Scholarship Commitee Members: The Woking Bedser Scholarship is privileged to have the backing of a fantastic committee who assist in the planning and implementation of the Bedser activities in the borough. Currently serving on the committee are:
