Dynamos Schools Cricket Competitions:
Your school is encouraged and invited to participate in our Surrey Cricket Dynamos Schools Cricket Competitions. The competitions are run as a pairs outdoor cricket competition played with a softball and is held for year 5, year 6 and a competition solely for girls. The game is fun, fast, exciting and is designed to show players that cricket is a sport they can get involved in to develop their skills and enjoy the team competition against other schools in their borough/partnership.
The competitions will take place throughout May and June, and consist of district rounds, building up to a County Finals Day in early July.
Once confirmed, dates, times, and venues of the 2023 Dynamos Schools cricket competitions will be displayed below. School registration for the ‘Leafy Surrey’ boroughs will be available via Google Forms if your school is in Inner or Outer London you can access your competitions through your School Games Organiser.
Hardball Competitions:
The Connellan Trophy:
The Connellan Trophy is an under 11s (year 5 and 6) Competition for state primary schools only. It is organised by arranging the entries into locally based groups of 3-4 schools who generally play group matches over one afternoon on a date agreed by all the school involved. The games are played using a 10-over, 7-aside format. The winner of each group then qualifies for a Finals Day run by the Surrey Cricket Foundation and played in mid-July.
Other hardball competitions:
The Surrey Schools Cricket Association (SSCA) run several hardball competitions, which are aimed at more established cricket schools. Details of these competitions can be found on the SSCA website. These include the Geoff Richards Trophy, and the Verney Cup, which both target the U11 age group (Year 6). If you are interested in further information about these competitions, please contact Phil Everest of the SSCA at peverest@ssca.org.uk.
