The ECB has created a new online safeguarding course with sections relevant to different roles in cricket. Please note there is an FAQ document at the bottom of this email should you have any questions.
For those with an ECB elearning account simply log onto your ECB eLearning account https://elearning.ecb.co.uk. You will see the ‘Safeguarding for Specialist Multiple Roles’ (SSR) course listed. The top-up elements will be greyed out, these will only become available once the SSR has been completed. If you have forgotten your log on details, contact elearning@ecb.co.uk and they will send you a reminder. Please note that existing coaches/activators or those who have registered on an ECB coaching course will already have an account.
For those without a current ECB eLearning account, please register via the link to your most most relevant role:

FAQs:
What are the changes? – The old ‘Safeguarding Young Cricketers’ Course (or SYC) has been removed and replaced by a new online course, ‘Safeguarding for Specialist Multiple Roles’ (or SSR). This new course is a direct replacement, although it is a slightly different format to previously. The new course has two elements, the generic SSR (think of this as 80% of the course), with a top additional element (think of this as the 20% top up). Completing both elements means that you have the 100% needed to complete the Safeguarding Course.
How much? – Free
How Long? – Budget 60-75 minutes for both the SSR and top up
How Often? – The same as SYC, you will need to recomplete this every 3 years
Who needs to do this? – All roles listed on the top up elements
I already have the SYC though – That’s fine, you will only need to do the new course once your SYC expires.
I am not due yet, can I complete the course anyway? – Yes, feel free. Doing so will reset your compliance and you won’t need to complete this course again for another 3 years.
I do more than one of the roles listed in the top up elements – Not a problem, you only need to complete one top-up element, you can choose which (choose the one you do most of). If you wish to complete more than one top up, then you can, but that’s not required.
Will I get a certificate? – Yes, available at the end of the course.
Overseas coaches who have a recognised qualification but no SPC - Must attend face to face UK Safeguarding and Protecting Children course.
