The ECB City Cup league runs for 6 weeks, typically between July and August, and sees borough sides from Croydon, Lambeth, Southwark and Wandsworth play a series of T20 matches against each other. Following this T20 round robin, a select XI from the boroughs are then chosen to represent South London in the national competition where they go on to play other representative sides from across the country.
The players engaged in this competition come mainly from SCF's South Asian & African-Caribbean networks and is pivotal in providing an exit route for our Chance to Shine Street Young Adults (16-24) participants.
In 2016, Wandsworth were the winner of the original South London T20 tournament and were undefeated in the process. The South London team (pictured above), selected from the borough teams, were triumphant over North London and Leicester on their way to the final, held at Grace Road, home of Leicestershire CCC, where they unfortunately lost to Manchester in the final.
