Merstham Magics face Merstham Girls in inter-club match
The Merstham Magics were formed in 2004 and offer weekly sessions for individuals with range of disabilities, as an integral part of Merstham CC. To close out the 2020 season, they took on the Merstham CC Girls team in an inter-club match and came out victorious!
"It has been a good achievement to play cricket with people who have a disability and to have fun as well. I hope to play more games next year. Thanks to Chris & Dan for helping me along the way." John Crompton, team member
The team is assisted by a group of extremely hard-working volunteers who ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the cricket in a safe and supportive environment, including lead coach Dan and team manager Chris.
"What is great about the team is that they turn up, week after week, summer and winter, to practice. When we have a competitive match, whether against the Merstham girls or Harold Wood at the Chelmsford County Ground , they really raise their game and play with such unbelievable enthusiasm. They are a joy to watch" Chris, Magics Team Manager
In a summer so affected by the pandemic, it is incredible to see the impact that cricket can have and thanks to the enthusiasm of the members, the Merstham Magics will continue for many years to come.
