The Surrey Cricket Foundation deliver playing equipment to the Caribbean
The Surrey Cricket Foundation team have been working alongside the Cricket Kindness Project, an organisation whose main aim is supporting disadvantaged young cricketers in the Caribbean with unused playing equipment.
Tamara Lowe, the founder of Cricket Kindness, is involved in helping up-cycle mass quantities of quality batting gloves, pads, bats, helmets and shoes that are ideal for budding cricketers playing throughout the Caribbean, to help them on their journey of development.
Many of the items were donated by players from the Surrey County Cricket squad over the last couple of years, as well as donations from Chance to Shine, Googly Cricket and local cricket clubs across Surrey.
Tamara says, “Cricket Kindness addresses the never-ending supply of unwanted, superseded and outgrown cricket gear, with the endless need for equipment and playing uniforms in developing cricket-playing countries. My aim is to level the playing field and ensure cricket-loving communities without the resources to access to kit are given opportunities to play the great game of cricket!”
