6000 school children decend on the Kia Oval
On Tuesday 30th April we welcomed almost 6000 children from over 100 schools to our annual School's Day at the Kia Oval.
Once all the children had arrived and found their seats they enjoyed a day in the sun watching Surrey v Hampshire.
They also had the opportunity to take part in a multitude of activities around the ground such as BatFast, Cricket Factory, coaching drills with Surrey Cricket Foundation coaches and getting their face painted...with a photo opportunity with Surrey Mascot Caesar.
Fairholm and Ashmole school were lucky enough to play on the outfield on one of our Flicx pitches during the interval of the game whilst being cheered on by the members in the crowd.
"Pre-event communication has been excellent. An amazing experience for our children. Friendly staff and volunteers help make this a most memorable occasion" - Henry Cavendish Primary
"The atmosphere and the cricket the children have never experienced anything like this before" - Harris Primary Academy Merton
"Really appreciative of a great opportunity for so many of our pupils. It was the first time any of them had been to a cricket match but I'm confident it won't be the last" - Bensham Manor
An all round successful day for both us and the children and we are already looking forward to next year!
