NatWest Cricket Force has grown into one of the largest volunteering initiatives in the country and has been running since 2001. The iniative, which this year runs from 31st March to 2nd April, brings clubs and local communities closer together, and ensures that grounds and facilities are ready for the new season. Just under 2,200 clubs and thousands of cricket volunteers nationwide have already signed up for this year’s NatWest CricketForce, edging it closer to being the largest weekend in the history of the event.
Like South Nutfield CC last year, the SCF have selected Streatham & Marlborough CC to be Surrey's showcase club for the initiative but in addition to this, out of the 2,200 registered clubs, they have also been chosen by the ECB to be the national showcase project and will be kicking off this year's NatWest Cricket Force weekend on Friday 31st March.
On the day, with the help of volunteers from the club, SCF, Surrey CCC and the ECB, the club are aiming to make their ground a warm and welcoming environment for new and existing members by painting the pavilion, renovating the bar and improving disabled access to the site.
