23 matches took place in the first week.
The Surrey Slam, Surrey's newest and most anticipated league, kicked off across the county last week.
In addition to the 64 teams that registered and the over 230 potential new players that contacted them, it turns out that the weather is also a fan of The Surrey Slam, the new midweek T20 competition that offers localised matches across the county.
The opening group games took place under bright blue skies with pink balls flying to all parts and, in many cases, coloured kit brightened up the spectacle even further. 23 matches took place last week with a further 9 to come this week, which will complete the first Window of matches.
There were many closely fought contests, but the tightest of those saw Merton Mammoths narrowly failing to reel in Old Ruthlishians Royals by 4 runs. Top score of the week belongs to Dorking Cockerels who posted 192/7 at home to Holmbury & Westcott Wolves.
