26th March
Following the recent announcements from the government and the closure of UK schools, as well as the decision from the ECB to suspend recreational cricket, we have taken the tough decision to cancel our annual Disability Day at this time.
As the event was due to take place on Tuesday 12th May, we believe that this is a necessary decision in order to adhere to the current government guidelines.
We at the Surrey Cricket Foundation and Surrey County Cricket Club look forward to this event every year as it is a fantastic way to encourage young people with a disability to take part in cricket and physical activity and to educate all those involved in the day about disability cricket. We are disappointed to not be able to provide the same opportunity this year.
We hope to back and better than ever in 2021 and look forward to welcoming you all back to the Kia Oval then.
In the meantime, please keep an eye out for future opportunities in your local areas, as and when government restrictions are lifted, and keep an eye on our social media channels for updates and upcoming events.
