2015 Outstanding Coaching Achievement winner Daniel tells us about his experiences being involved with cricket – don’t forget to nominate your volunteers Surrey OSCAs 2016
Daniel Simpler, winner of the Outstanding Coaching Achievement Award, has spoken to the Surrey Cricket Foundation about his experiences in cricket. Daniel explained some of the reasons he got involved with the game and has some advice for any aspiring coaches. “If you are wanting to get into coaching you should give it a go, you are half way there by wanting to do it. Always remember the reason you got involved because there will be ups and downs, highs and lows, but most of all just enjoy yourself.
“I've been lucky in some ways that my time coaching has been spent predominantly with one side and I have been able to watch them grow and develop as a side”. Further to this Daniel also spoke of a great group of friend he has meet while coaching.
Since winning the award last year Daniel is still heavy involved with cricket working with a couple of different teams.
The OSCA’s provides a great event to thank a range of volunteers and coaches. We looking to get as many nominations as possible.
