The South London Cricket League were crowned champions..............
The Kia Oval hosted the annual Aston Scott Ltd Inter Leagues day on Monday 8th September.
Seven of the largest Surrey based leagues graced the hallow turf playing in a two league format.
The top two sides from each league moved into a semi final and ultimately a final to decide a winner. Matches were played simultaneously on the famous outfield, there was lots on offer for the 250 travelling supporters to keep an eye on with the format consisting of just five 8 ball over’s. This meant plenty of boundaries were hit into the stands at the Kia Oval.
The final saw the South London Cricket League and the I’anson League competing against one another. It was an exciting and close run affair that ended up with the South London Cricket league prevailing to win the event for the first time.
Awards were presented to the top three teams by Surrey Cricket Board trustee and ECB’s head of non first class cricket Paul Bedford, he also gave special praise to the supporting umpires and ground staff who helped to put together such a successful day.
A big thank you went to our sponsor on the day Aston Scott Ltd. We all look forward to another successful inter leagues day in 2015!
