Have you been thinking about becoming a coach?
Here at the Surrey Cricket Foundation, we're about to kick off our full Coach Education programme ahead of the winter. With our first Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Children beginning on Thursday 1st November in Leatherhead, we take a look at five reasons to get your coaching qualification ahead of next season.
1. GIVE SOMETHING BACK
Getting your coaching qualification and volunteering to coach at your club is a fantastic way to give something back to your club. Your club will be delighted to hear you are working towards a coaching qualification, whether it's our Coach Support Worker course or Level 2 certificates.
2. TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Are family and friends a regular feature at your club? Spending your evenings over the summer at your club can be a great way to fit in socialising, family time and coaching!
3. ADD TO YOUR CV
Looking for a career change? Fresh out of school or university? A coaching qualification can be a great addition to your cv.
With coaching qualifications being a vital part of any coaching job, getting your coaching qualification with us can open up many opportunities for you further down the line. If you're looking to coach part time, it can show to future employers you have the commitment and dedication to give up a few evenings during your course to learn something new.
4. CRICKET ALL YEAR ROUND
If you're missing the fun of the cricket season, choosing to study your coaching qualification over the winter can be a fantastic way to extend the cricket season.
Why not see if there are other members at your club that want to join in, too?
5. ACCESS RESOURCES
If you have informally been helping out here and there at your club, not only will a coaching qualification allow you to coach formally, it opens the door to a great deal of resources via the England and Wales Cricket Board. Learn new coaching techniques, drills and games to take back to your club!
With different courses taking place all over Surrey this winter, take a look at our guide here and find your perfect route to coaching.
