Surrey Cricket Foundation’s Welfare Officer Team is excited to be offering the Welfare Officer network in Surrey the opportunity for some informal training in February and March at two venues in Surrey. The plan for each evening will be to provide some of the latest news and advice for the network and we have Guest speakers confirmed as below:
Social Media and Welfare – Ian McGraw, Surrey County Council Education Safeguarding Officer – A presentation around the challenges that social media and the internet pose to young people
The Safeguarding Process – ECB Safeguarding Team – A presentation aimed at providing some insight into how the system works once a complaint has been registered with ECB and how any outcome may affect and be managed by the club network.
In addition there will be a chance to share practice with other Club Welfare Officers as well as posing any questions of the County Welfare Officer Team, Heidi Langrish and Nigel Legg.
The evenings are free to attend and will run from 7-9.30pm. Please note these sessions do not replace the formal training you need to maintain as a Club Welfare Officer.
If you have any questions please contact Simon Hards.
